DAVID SEAMAN'S FLOATING FIT TIPS
... NOT ONLY FOR ONBOARD OUR SHIPS

David Seaman Do you want to stay fit and healthy? Then help is at hand.

Ex-England footballing legend David Seaman has teamed up with Royal Caribbean International to develop Floating fit – a guide to staying active and healthy whilst on holiday. Sport fanatic David, also a keen ice skater, cricketer and golfer, discovered the appeal of an all-action holiday with his wife Debbie and two children Georgina, 7 and Robbie 5, onboard Navigator of the Seas earlier this year.

To make the most of your family holiday see his guide on rock-climbing, roller-blading, ice-skating, water activities and much more. But is does not have to stop there, see his 7 top tips for improving fitness.

DAVID’S FLOATING FIT TIPS

  1. There is a temptation to try everything at once. Don’t. You’ll be stiff as a board which will put a dampener on your holiday fun.
  2.
  3. I’m always telling my kids that if they’re not getting any fun out of an activity, they should try something else. It’s easier to keep in shape if you’re enjoying yourself.
  4.
  5. One of the best things about exercise is that it lifts your mood and reduces stress. So do it early and you’ll enjoy your holiday even more.
  6.
  7. Bring the kids along when you’re trying a new activity. They love to do what you do – only better! I’m like most dads - when the kids race ahead of me, it just makes me try harder.
  8.
  9. If you don’t fancy the gym, you can still keep fit onboard. Walk down - and especially up - the stairs onboard.
  10.
  11. If you don’t feel up to sports or gym workouts, try water aerobics. This is great for easing aching older bones and muscles.
  12.
  13. Remember that exercise not only helps burn calories and build muscle, it also revs up your metabolism which can fast track weight-loss
